The reading room is open to everyone. Users have free access to:

  • several dozen titles of emigration magazines (including Dziennik Polski and Dziennik Żołnierza, Kultura, Zeszyty Historyczne, Wiadomości, Orzeł Biały, Nowy czas, Cooltura) and national magazines (including Angora, Newsweek, Nowe ksiezy, Tygodnik Powszechny, Wprost)
  • dictionaries, encyclopedias, guides
  • bibliography
  • Polish literature in English.

In addition, the Library's storage facility contains over 5,600 periodicals, over 170,000 books and brochures, and approximately 66,000 photographs. These materials, along with archives, manuscripts, social documents, maps, sheet music, and underground publications, can be accessed by prior request.

Materials available in the reading room may only be copied within the Library. The librarian on duty determines whether materials may be copied. Photography with your own digital camera (without flash) is permitted only on-site, with the librarian's permission, in compliance with the Copyright Act.

Users of the reading room should leave their outerwear and large bags and backpacks in the cloakroom (POSK reception).

We would like to remind you that silence is required in the Reading Room and the use of mobile phones is prohibited.
